Planning Ahead Is Key to Having Clear Skin at Your Next Upcoming Event

Great skin doesn’t happen overnight. One of the biggest mistakes we see people make is starting a new skin treatment system without giving it the proper time to work.  If there’s a big event coming up, you can’t wait until just a week or two before the event to give yourself amazing skin.  For best results, you should be thinking months ahead – possibly even a year, if you’re thinking about cosmetic surgery!

There are tips for clear skin that can work within most timeframes, but either way, a little foresight, and planning will help ensure your skin looks gorgeous when the big day comes.

Four Timely Tips for Clear Skin at Your Next Big Event

  • Start a skin care calendar

No matter what treatments you have planned, you want to stick to a schedule.  In consultation with your dermatologist or other skin care experts, create a calendar that outlines what treatments you’ll use, and when.  Then do your best to make it work!

  • Surgical procedures should start a year in advance

Processes such as laser hair removal or scar treatments take a long time to fully pay off and usually require 3-4 separate sessions spaced out with several months between.  These should be started around a year before the event, to ensure they’re fully completed in time.

And, at the same time, definitely do not start them too close to the event date, or there could be unforeseen complications.

  • Do any injections at least three months ahead of time

Are you thinking Botox?  If you haven’t used it before, you want to try it a few months ahead of time.  People’s bodies react differently to Botox, and there’s a chance you might not like the results.  If your first session is 3-6 months ahead of the event, that gives you plenty of time to correct for any issues that come up.

  • Save the deep cleaning facial for near the end

You don’t want to get a deep cleaning facial too early, or its results will wear off.  The best time for this is roughly 1-2 weeks before the event.  Then you can focus on hydration and masks to preserve the effect and keep your skin looking as soft as possible.
